The nieces and nephews came to grandma's after school and carved their pumpkins. Buddy, my dog, ate some pumpkin guts, I hope he feels okay tomorrow!
Anyways I thought I would share a little of our halloween with you! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

It's hard to choose just one. Through the years I have had many wonderful birthdays all special for their own unique reasons. I've had slumber parties and surprise parties, a birthday where a far away friend showed up and surprised me for the weekend, and one birthday I even got a little brother! Two of the most special gifts were from friends.
The first was the gift that made me cry. It was a porcelain "Buddy Lee" bobblehead that my friend Linda searched for, for over 3 months and finally found on Ebay. When I opened that gift I was actually speechless. You see Buddy Lee was the character Lee's jeans used in their advertising and was also the name of my cousin who passed away. To that point in my life he was my very best friend. When I lifted that doll from the box, I cried. I knew that my friend had really thought about what would touch me and also it was a remembrance of my "Buddy".
The second was the gift that made me smile. A small package with my name on it lying on the kitchen table when I came home from work. I opened that package and was completely surprised when I not only found a birthday card, but pictures as well as autographs and a dvd/video. These items were from two people I had only known for about a year and only through emails and chats on the internet.
That gift was not only a surprise, but it provided me with a smile that lasted for days. Actually when it comes to mind it still makes me smile *grin*. These people reached out to me and made me their friend. How lucky am I? Undescribably lucky. To know that you are actually thought about by someone else. To receive something you never ever expected, but love so much. It made me feel special. It is impossible to put a price tag on that kind of gift. It's the gift of real friendship and I will treasure it forever. Thank you Jai & Sharon. Luv, Tray/Trac

I love the card and the pics were awesome. The actual pictures make it so much more real to me. Then I see there is a video. I play the video and there is a video message for me from John!!!!!! I wouldn't have cared if he had simply said "the Charmin is on aisle 7", after all it's John!!!!! Squeeeee!!!! But it was a real birthday message just for me! I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. You guys are all awesome! If we have this much fun over the internet, just think what kind of trouble we could get into if we lived closer? This is just amazing. I know I'm rambling here, but come on a John Driscoll message just for me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for going to so much trouble to give me such a wonderful present. I love you guys so much. You don't know how much you mean to me. Luv and Hugs, Tray

Hey Guys!
It has been one super crazy chaotic week! My uncle had 2 heart attacks and had to have emergency bypass surgery (he is doing well - came home yesterday); tax season has just kept me hopping (I don't even have my own taxes done as we speak); and then on my 3 day weekend I come down with a nasty sinus infection. Other than taking food in and out of the oven, I spent all day Sunday and most of Monday in bed. With the help of anti-biotics I am feeling more like myself today, just in time for the middle of the work week (lousy timing on that one).
Wanted to let you all know that I am still around and since I have missed so many posts this last week, I will catch up my comments here:
1.Happy Belated Easter to everyone, hope your weekend was wonderful.
2. Jenny I'm so glad you are feeling a little better and I continue to send positive thoughts and prayers your way.
3. BTW, your icons were dynamite, I'm snagging several. The Z's are a little strange but in a fun sort of way. I like the "extra" they add to the show. I'm actually liking Damian as well and am anxious to see where that storyline goes. Has Nuke been awesome this last week or what? I love the bantering between the two, the cuddling and all the little gestures, so darn cute!
4. Shattered Reflections: Just wanted you to know Jai that I love this story so much. I loved the talk between Doris & Coop, I could actually see his face and hear the snickering when he asked her if the mayor had just said "fuck buddy", so cute! No matter what path you take your characters on, you always manage to keep them true to their personalities.
5. Lastly, and most importantly, Jai, dropping out of fanfiction? I need you to know that I have put a phone call into Agent Jareau at the Behavior Analysis Unit in Quantico, VA asking for a team to be sent to Florida to locate Jamie Wagnor, because apparently an unsub has taken her hostage and is "forcing" her to make these preposterous posts to her LJ. She indicated that she would talk to her team and get back with me. So Jai, if you have escaped the unsub since that post, would you please let us know so I can call the BAU off this matter?
I have really missed all you guys so much this past week. Sometimes life throws us curveballs and we get a littled deterred, but never fear, the destination remains the same......keeping in contact with wonderful friends.
Many posts to come, I promise.......
Love, Tracy

Last weekend, my 9 year old nephew Harm competed in the Sectional Swimming Championships. It was a long day and he was sick with a stomach ache the whole day. With the aid of Pepto tablets, some Sierra Mist and lots of coaxing from his Aunt Tracy, he managed to complete all his events.

After completing his 4th event, his mom told him he could scrub his relay because he felt so bad. After showering and dressing, his coach begged him to swim the relay or the other team-mates would also have to scrub their chance. So, after a few tears and some encouragement from mom and aunt, he said "I'll do it for the team". He re-changed into his speedo and swam his relay. He didn't place high enough to continue on in the next leg of the championships, but I was so proud of him. What a trooper!

I want it over and done. I want the bleeding to stop. At the same time, a part of my heart doesn't want it to end. It's like putting your child on the school bus for the first time. You stand there and smile and waive telling them to have fun and at the same time you're heart is breaking. You want nothing more than to jump on that bus and take that child into your arms and hold them forever. You know you can't do that though, so you grit your teeth and smile even bigger until the bus pulls away, then you turn away and let your tears fall as you walk back home. You feel sad all day wondering what is going on while you're not there to see everything.
At the end of the day though, you hurry back to that bus stop and wait anxiously for the bus to pull up and your little one to emerge and run into your arms again.
I'm waiting for the bus to pull away so I can cry, but I'll be back at the end of the day to welcome JD back when he returns to our screens and back into our hearts.

I am still struggling with Represent & Defend, but I'm still writing. In the meantime the following fiction came from an idea that jumped into my brain after the ridiculous scenes from yesterday & Coopth's dinner at Towers. This is my own version of Coop's reservations at Towers. Hope you like it.

Everyone is setting goals for their 2009 fictions with prompt lists, continuing stories, etc., so here's a tentative outline for a new fic/idea of mine. I've decided to take a piece of advice from Coop Bradshaw, the english teacher. (Write what you know). No, I've never been arrested for murder, I'm a legal assistant *grin*. Please give it a look and let me know what you think. If it sounds interesting, I'll get started. If not, that's okay too. I thought I would be more apt to complete a goal if I got the idea out there rather than just typing notes in my computer and stashing them away.
